Call for volunteers for the revision of NNP Education Standards Task Force

Volunteers are needed to serve on a task force to revise the "Education Standards for Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Programs" document. Applicant must be a board certified, master's or doctorally prepared NNP, with a minimum of five years experience in a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Must currently be employed in a faculty role teaching didactic and precepting or overseeing NNP clinicals. Current NNP practice is preferred. It is important to have a working knowledge of the current national requirements for regulation and evaluation of nurse practitioner practice and programs.  These documents include:  Criteria for Evaluation of Nurse Practitioner Programs (NTFQNPE, 2008); Consensus Model for APRN Regulation (NCSBN & APRN CWG, 2008); Essentials of Master's Education (AACN, 1996); Essentials of Doctoral Education for Advanced Nursing Practice (AACN, 2006); Education Standards for Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Programs (NANN, 2002); and Curriculum Guidelines for Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Education Programs (NANN, 2002).

Please submit your CV along with a cover letter expressing your interest in working on this task force by December 1st, 2008.  We will be selecting task force regular and corresponding members from applications received.  Corresponding members will be asked to review and edit the standards as they are drafted by the regular task force members.  Please indicate on your cover letter if you are interested in becoming a regular task force member, a corresponding member, or either.  Decisions will be made by January 1st with the first telephone conference meeting in January.  This is an exciting opportunity to impact NNP education as we move forward. Travel is not required for this task force, however you should consider attending the education Summit at NANN's National meeting in Austin where the task force work will be reviewed and discussed by national educators for a final concensus.

Please submit your CV along with a cover letter to jandriopoulos@connect2amc.com, expressing your interest in working on this.
